The Law Office of Desiree Lovell Fusco, PLLC is a boutique law practice dedicated to providing individuals and businesses with high quality legal representation and personal attention. Our practice is concentrated in the areas of estate planning, probate and estate administration, and real estate.
Our predecessor firm was originally founded in 1973 by Joseph C. Bondi. For many years, the firm was a general practice, serving Long Island’s families and small businesses in diverse legal matters. The firm name changed over the years, and in 2015, then-partners Joseph Bondi and Anthony Iovino handed over the reins of firm management to Desiree Lovell Fusco.
A new chapter began for the firm with the creation of the Law Office of Desiree Lovell Fusco, PLLC in 2024. While the firm name may have changed, the excellent legal counsel and service remain.
Desiree Lovell Fusco, a 2003 graduate of Fordham Law School, is the managing partner of the firm. She has been at the firm for nearly 20 years, and is personally involved in every matter that the firm handles, from simple Wills to complex estate accountings. The firm’s team of experienced support staff play a vital role in the practice as well, including our Certified Paralegal, Stacie Ann Pernice.
In 2023, the firm celebrated our founding attorney, Joe Bondi, for his 50 years of practice. Joe maintains his own full-time practice on site, while serving as of counsel to the Fusco law office. He continues to provide his experience and advice in handling the firm’s business law and real estate work.
We also rely on respected local senior attorney, Francis X. Moroney. Frank joined the firm as of counsel in 2019, following his long-time service to individuals, businesses, and nonprofit and government entities as a solo practitioner in Carle Place.
We believe that people need legal counsel for “life’s events.” Some clients, like a large corporation or an employee’s union, may need to consult with their attorneys frequently. Others may need their attorneys for once-in-a-lifetime events, such as the adoption of a child. The Law Office of Desiree Lovell Fusco, PLLC asks that you think of us on those occasions – marriage, death, buying or selling a home, retirement, auto accident or other injury, buying or selling a business, etc.
Practice Overview
Our practice emphasizes the law fields of Estates, Wills and Trusts. We review existing estate plans, and draft Wills, Irrevocable and Revocable Trusts, and Advance Directives such as Health Care Proxies, Living Wills and Powers of Attorney, as well as deed transfers. We ensure that our clients can rest easy knowing that they will be taken care of in the event they become ill, and that their families will be prepared in the event of their deaths. The firm is very active in the local Surrogate Courts, handling probate proceedings (decedents who died leaving a Will), and administration proceedings (those dying without a Will), as well as more complicated matters such as Will contests, Accountings, safe deposit box openings, and Guardianships.
We also serve as the “lawyers’ lawyer”, as we handle a large volume of Estate proceedings for personal injury attorneys when their clients pass away, and we are regularly called upon by our colleagues for counsel in the Estate and Estate Planning legal specialties.
Desiree Fusco is consistently nominated to the “SuperLawyers” annual list, and has received the Avvo Client’s Choice Award for Estate Planning, maintaining a 5-star rating. Our predecessor firm, Bondi Iovino & Fusco, received an “AV” rating from the prestigious Martindale Hubbell publication, its highest rating, representing “very high to preeminent” legal ability and “very high” general ethical standards.
